About
A very short page about me, since you are visiting this blog you have the right to know who you are looking at. My name is Martin de Keijzer and I work as a web developer in The Netherlands (hence the title of this blog).
I started using PHP in 2003 for a study project. The main reason; it was easy to learn. Yes it’s true, I also started as a script kiddie, hacking my way through spaghetti code and not being concerned with concepts like architecture, scalability or unit testing. If it worked I was a happy camper! Luckily over the years things have changed, as I got more accustomed to PHP I decided I wanted to make the web a better place, even if it is just a needle in the haystack, and learn more and more each day.
Now I see myself as a PHP developer who is ready to provide customers with enterprise solutions; products that are performant, thoroughly tested and ready to take on heavy loads and peak times. That doesn’t mean I have stopped learning, I still learn every day, and I hope that through this blog I can contribute to your skills and all I ask in return is a comment to sharpen mine when you have other insights.
I guess that’s enough about me, get back to what you like most and what you came here for. Dig into some code!
